POST AND TELEGRAPH DEPARTMENT.
WELLINGTON, January 18. Promotions changes in the staff of the Post and Telegraph Department have been approved by the Postmaster-general (Sir Joseph Ward) as follows :—Mr H. W. Harrington, late Officer-in-Charge, Wellington,' to be Inspector of Telegraph Offices in place of Mr J. G. Ballard, who has been superannuated; Mr W. E. Cliisholm, Assistant Telegraph Engineer, Wellington, to be Telegraph Engineer at Nelson; Mr R. M. Band, Electrician, Wellington, to be Assistant Telegraph Engineer at Wellington; Mr G. T. Kemp, Assistant Electrician, Wellington, and Mr E. P. Cowles, clerk in the local Telegraph Engineer's office, to be Sub-telegraph Engineers at Wellington • Mr R. Crow, clerk in the Superintendent of Electric Lines office, replaces Mr Cowles on the Telegraph Engineer's staff; and Mr L. L. Maoev, of New Plymouth, succeeds Mr Crow in the office of the Superintendent of Electric Lines.
