CHAMPIONSHIP REGATTA.

IMPORTANT EVENTS POSTPONED. BLENHEIM, January 24. Fine weather was experienced for the Championship Regatta at Picton, and there was a large attendance of spectatore. A north-westerly breeze made the water rough, and' the minor events only were rowed off, it being decided to take the championship events to-morrow morning at 7 o'clock. The following are to-day a results: — MAIDEN CLINKER FOURS. One mile. Picton Rowing Club (N. Godfrey, F. Bush, Whiting,. L.-Godfrey) ... ... 1 Blenheim Rowing Club (Martello, G. Wils, J. O'Rqurke, R. Bentley) ... 2 Star . Rowing Club (P. R. Rye-Smith, S. Butt, P. R. Stansell, J. Dudley) ... 3 Also started: Nelson, Canterbury, and Kawatiri. Picton showed' out .from a good start at first, and then Sta'r supplanted them. Picton came again,-'with' Canterbury and Blenheim close up:' Half a mile from home the order was Picton, Blenheim, and Star. After an exciting race Picton won by half a length, Star a length behind Blenheim. Time, smin 43sec. JUNIOR PAIRS. One mile.. Picton (E. Kennedy and R. Andrews) ... 1 Blenheim (J.
