During; a thunderstorm near St. A maud (Victoria) recently, lightening struck a tree in Mr W. M‘Don aid’s paddock and set fire to a standing crop of wheat, 40 acres of which was destroyed. The progress of the fire was arrested by an area of fallow land and a timely fall of rain.
