Y.M.C.A. BUILDING FUND.

THE APPEAL FOR £2OOO. The appeal which the Y.M.C.A. Building Fund Committee is making- to the public for .a final £2OOO had a ready response yesterday, when the various committees opened the canvass. The day’s labours resulted in the collection of an amount totalling £2ll 15s. Ihe canvass will, of course, be continued until the required amount is obtained. No absolute refusals have so far been met with, and everything points to the attainment of the committee’s objective. Three teams of business men have been set up to canvas* the city, these being under the leadership of Messrs C. R. Smith, 11. K. Wilkinson, and J. B. Waters. In addition, there are five teams of youngmen, the leaders being G. Morton (North Dunedin), C. Bradfleld (Central), F. Taylor (South Dunedin), D. Miller and J. M‘Daren (Roslyn and Maori Hill), and G. E. Man-son (North-East Valley). The result of yesterday’s canvass is as follows :
