STATE MINE COLLIERS.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) GREYMOUTH, January 17. In placing on record its sympathy with the Newcastle strikers, whose delegate, Mr M‘Williams, addressed them last night, the State Collieries Miners’ Union adopted a straight-out Socialist resolution, the full text of which is as follows : —“ That this meeting of Runanga worker's congratulates the miners of New South Wales upon the determined stand that they have taken in their fight against the tyranny of the mine owners, and the brutal laws of the brutalised capitalist-ridden Government of that State. We pledge ourselves to assist them financially or in any other way they may deem advisable. Further, we urge upon the workers of the Dominion the necessity of awakening to the fact that the class war that is so manifest in New South Wales at the present time exists also in New Zealand, and that, in order to combat it, it is necessai'y that we organise ourselves upon an industrial baeis for the purpose of securing the full fruits pi our industry, which
’ can,o ly be obtained by tbs overthfdtying'of capitalism and the establishment ot a co-operative commonwealth, thus emancipating the workers for all time ixOm' tne possibility of exploitation by a master class for cheir own private interests;”
