GRAIN AND PRODUCE REPORTS.

Messrs Dalgety and Company (Ltd.) report as follows : — We held o«ir usual weekly auction .sale of grain and produce at our stores on Monday, when we offered a medium catalogue to a fair attendance of buyers. The market was not animated, but our catalogue was cleaied at prices as under : — Oats. — There is v»ry little business passiflg' i° oats. Offerings are not large, but axe enough to satisfy the buyers that are in the market. Prime milling Gartons, j Is 7^d to Is 8d ; sparrowbills, Is 7d to Is 7^d; good to best feed, Is 5d to Is 7d; inferior to medium, Is 2d to Is 4d per bushel, sacks extra. Wheat. — The wheat market is quiet, and very little business is passing. Millers are taking limited quantities offered at a price ex store well within quotations. We quote : Prime milling, 4s <d to 4s sd ; medium to good, 4s to 4s 2d; best whole fowl wheat, 3s 9d to 3s lid ; inferior and smutted, 2s 6d to 3s 4d. Potatoes. — Lines suitable for shipment j have met with fair inquiry during this last week at quotations. Outside of this "the | local demand is not very strong. Straw. — We quote: Oaten 27s 6d to 30a, ' per ton; wheaten, 27s 6d, pressed; ex truck, I . Potatoes. — Shippers are buying only foractual orders, and limiting their purchasesto picked lots. Extra good lines are saleable at about £3 per ton. but good sound' lines are difficult to place beyond last; week's prices — £2 10s to £2 15s, meditfm£2 to £2 ss. Inferior, stale, and small sorts are out of favour, and not readily cold at £1 5s to £l 15s per ton (bags in«cluded). Chaff. — Medium to good quality is inheavier supply, and moves off slowly afc£2 to £2 10s. Prime oaten sheaf is the class inquired for. This sells readily at £2 12s 6d to £2 15s. For lij?ht and' discoloured lots there are few buyers, even. at £1 10s to £1 15s per ton (bags extra}.
