GIRL CHARGED WITH MURDER.
SEQUEL TO A CHILD'S DEATH
AUCKLAND, October 1
An adjourned inquest into the circumstances of the death of the infant child of Olive Yates, an unmarried girl, of about 18 years, livinsj with her parents at Brookby, near Manurewa. was concluded to-day. After an hours' consideration the jsrp returned a verdict as follows :— " The child met it*- death partly through suffocation and oartly by exposure by the mother, but whether or not through want of experience iury is not in a position to determine." The jury was unanimous in the opinion that the chiid had been born alive. Immediately afterwards an information was sworn, charging the girl Yates with murder.
