N.Z. FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION.

At the last meeting of the council of the New Zealand Football Association a letter from the Otago Football Association expressed hearty appreciation of the manner in which its boys' representative t"am was looked after when in Wellington three weeta ago. It was hoped, 6a;d the writer, that next season Otago would have the opportunity to return some of the kindm-ss shown to the lads. A visit from a Wellington team was what was required to further instil interest in the. sport. The letter induced a general discussion on the de>irability of encouraging boys' football throughout New Zealand, and it was decided to depute Messrs H. N. Holmes and B. L. Salmon to act as a sub-committee to draft a. report upon the whole subject. Thi; Sec-rotary submitted a report in connection with the proposed tour of a New South Wales team in tha Dominion next --■eason. The expenses were estimated a-t 5701 10s, on "a basis of 11 games. £174 was allowed for steamer faros and) £135 for hotel bills. llie suggested matches were apportioned as follows: — Auckland, Wel!ini*ton, ajid Dunedin, two eiach; an-d Ghristchurch, TimaJ-u, Invercargill, New Plymouth, and Wanganui, one each ; with lh/» possibility of matches also at Napier and Masterton. Messrs Couitney, Robert*, and Salmon were reappointed to go further into the question and bring down another and fuller report.
