ORGANISED LABOUR.

(Faou Ova Own Correspondent.) GREYMOUH, October 4. At a meeting of the State Miners' Branch of the New Zealand Federation of Miners, held at Runanga on Friday night for the purpose of discussing remits for the foithcoming conference to be held in Wellington on October 14, the necessity of guarding the movement against questionable characters came under discussion. Several speakers mentioned that, in the light ol past events, there was abundant evidence of unscrupulous individuals who had through their actions cast serious reflection upon organised labour. To guard against such a contingency in the future the following motion was, after mature consideration, unanimously adopted :—": — " That the Coal Creek Industrial Union of Workers protests against any persons holding office in thg Miners' Federation, or attending as a delegate, any conference of the federation who has misappropriated moneys belonging to any organisation, or who has in any way injured the cause of labour." A copy of the resolution is to.be forwarded to the general secretary, who will in turn notify all unions within the jurisdiction of the federation, so that if the necessity arises, delegates attending the next conference will know how to act. The West Coast General Labourers' Union has passed a similar resolution. This body also decided to recommend that the title of the federation be changed to "The Ne«v Zealand Federation of Labour."
