RAILWAY BRAKE AT TACEMENT.

WELLINGTON, June 16.

- A trial was made this morning on a special train between Wellington and the Hutt of the Christie patent safety railway brake attachment. The trial was very successful, the appliance satisfying .the claims of the inventor (Mr N. C. -Christie, of Invercargillj. The invention provides a means of indicating at once 'to the driver of a train whether the brakes are operative or inoperative, and also gives "means of communication by telephone between the different carriages and the driver in case of accident.
