INTERCLUB RACE.

The third annual interclub teams race for the Edmond Cup was successfully .run on Saturday at Tahuna Park. Six teams, comprising some 50 runners, started. The course included three rounds of the park ■asid then on to the ground near the Mus-s-alburgh School, circling round the . Gun Club grounds, and entering the south end of the park, finishing with a lap on the track. From the start it was a pretty sight as the large pack swept vp 1 the straight, and on the fiist tirre down the back straight the field began to etretch out, with M'Kmight, Frew^ -Murray, Wilson, and Thomson in the lead. Leaving the park at the end of a mile and a-half, M'Knight and Frew had a good lead, which they maintained all the remainder of the race, and entered into the last lap with a considerable lead. Once into the park M'Knight we.nt off at top speed, and soon left Frew behind, v finishing very strongly nmid hearty cheers from the crowd/ of spectators. Then followed Frew, with Murray some distance behind third, closely followed by Notman, Wilson, Turnibull, Frye, West, and Crawford. Th© placing* of the teams for the Cup is as follows : — Caversham Harriers (G. M'TLnight 1, H. Frew 2, F. Frye 7, C. Fry© 10, J. M'Lauohlin 11, A. Chambers 20), 51,pts .. 1 Dxuiedin Harriers (H. Murray 3, A. Turnbull 6, L. "W&s-t 8, H. Crawford 9, W. Taylor 13, D. Thomson 14), 53 points .. 2 Anglican Harriers (G. N&tman 4, P. Wilson 5, G. W«st 15, G. Oliphant 17, E. Morris 24, E. Bundle 26), 91 points *.. 3 Caversham Harriers have thus repeated their win of 1907, and regained the Challenge Cup, which,, they lost to the Dunedin IL*rriers last M'Knight's running was splendid, and considering the heavy state of t-he track after the recent rains, he did well in cutting out the distance in 15min ssec. Caversham's second man, Frew, ateo ran a good race.^ Murray, for Dunedin. made his reappearance on the ti-ack, and though not in the best- of form, put up a very creditable performance in running into third position. The Anglicans' representatives, Notman and Wilson, are two strong- -runners! Secretary Anderson deserves a word of thaks for his work in. connection with the race,' and the programme compiled by the club is full of information. Previous results: — 1907 — C-avershani Harriers (63 points) .. 1 Dunedin Harriers (73 points) .. .. 2 190S— Diunedin Harriers (39 points) .. .. 1 Caversham Harriers (78 points) .. 2
