ELECTION OF TRUSTEES.
BENEVOLENT INSTITUTION. ( j The annual meeting of contributors and life governors of the Otago Benevolent Institution for the purpose of electing two trustees was hedd in the Town Hall at 3 o'clock on the 14th. There were about a dozen contributors present, and the chair was taken by Mr W. T. Talboys, chairman, of the trustees. On the motion of the chairman, the annual report and balance sheet, already published, were adopted. j The trustees retiring this year were Messrs W. Burnett and W. T." Talboys. The Chairman eaid he was sorry to have noticed in the press that Mr Burnett would not be a candidate on this occasion. Mr Burnett had served on the board far eight years, during -which time h© had taken a great interest in the in- j stitution, and had regularly attended the ' weekly meetings. His other duties now prevented him from offering" his «revioea i for a further term. Mi- E. A. Tapper moved that Mr W. T. ! Talboys and Mr D. Larnach be appointed j trustees. Mr Talboys, he said, had occu* ; pied the oheir for a number of years, j and Mr Larnaoh would prove a valuabl* member. The motion was carried. > Th* Chairman, speaking for Mr Larnaoh as well as for himself, thanked th« mooti»ig for its decision.
