BOARD OF GOVERNORS. CHRISTCHURCH, January 12. At a meeting of the Board of Governors oi the Canterbury (Lincoln) Agricultural College the acting director reported a full quota of students, the enrolled num- - ber being 52. Three students who had matriculated had applied for two scholarships, and the acting director intends ascertaining from the registrar of the New Zealand University the number oi marks required by each. The board decided to adhere to its previous decision not to permit a fifth egg-laying competition under the New Zealand Utility Poiil* try Club to take place at the college. Regarding the complaints of the Timaru A. and P. Association in connection with the election to the board, the chairman (the Hon. E. C. J. Stevens) stated that he had explained the position in interviews in the Christchurch newspapers. The feeling of the board was that tha remarks made by the Timaru Association were ungracious, and that as the chairman had explained the position the subjeel was not worth discussing further.

The Rev. W. H. Cooke, the senior incumbent in Norwich, has resigned the vicariate of St. Saviour's, which he has held since 1856.
