CHARGE OF PROFESSIONALISM. LONDON, January 13.
The Scottish Rugby Union has cancelled Jt« fixture -with England because the English Union sanctioned paynvents to the "All Blacks" and the "Wallabies" of one guinea a w-eek each besides expenses. The Scottish. Committee is unanimously of opinion that the,«e payments are contrary to the principles of amateur football, and amount to professionalism. The Scottish union further complains thai the Anglo-Welbh team of 1908, "who i isitcd X-p-w Zealand and Auetialia, leceived a dai!y allowance. Jantiary 18. ilr Ifacllahon, manager of the Wallahies, speaking at Portsmouth, suggested that in futiuc years the union visited should bear all the expenses, thus avoid lrg objectionable little incidents such as those raised by the Scottish Union.
