NORTHERN COAL MINES.
SETTLEMENT AFFECTED. TIMARU, January 14. On being interviewed in Timaru this evening the Prime Minister said : — " I have received advice that the difficulty regarding the northern coal mines has been settled, that the owners have accepted the Government Accident Insurance Department's cover, and that the miners will resume work to-morrow."
