A STEAMER WRECKED
SEVENTEEN LIVES LOST. LONDON, January 18. The Biiti?h steamer Fidra, coal-laden, has been wrecked on the island of Ararum, in derm any. Her crew of 17 perished. The Fidra was a steel screw steamer of 1218 ton-, built in 1889 by R. Irvine and" ' Co., of Wc=t Ilartlepcol. Her owners •vere Chas. Salveson and Co., and her ~" port of register was Leith.
