THE ALL-RED ROUTE.
MELBOURNE, January 5. Dr Coulter, of Canada, interviewed the Federal Prime Minister and the Post-master-general to-day in connection with the "All-Red" route. He suggested that the Australian contribution should be a subsidy of £75,000. j Mr Fisher said he thought the proposal needed serious consideration. He was somewhat appalled by the amount of the subsidy suggested. No doubt it was an ideal scheme, but it involved a lot of money, and the financial aspect of the problem was one that could not be lost sight of. A further interview will be held.
