MELBOURNE, January 7. ; Mr Griffiths, Acting Federal Meteorologist, said it was not known why Mr Wragge issued his prediction of a big drought in Australia. The probability, was that the statement was based on a supposed connection between the state of ', the sun and the weather conditions of the . **' earth. Scientists were divided on the \. point, and there was no justification for assuming that such connection is established.
