HOTEL FRACAS.
A riot occurred at a GL?borr« hotel on the sth inst. A young man from the country entered into a game called "selling the horse," but then withdrew. Words and fisticuffs ensued, followed by throwing bottles and other missiles. The landlady, who interposed, was knocked Sown, but was uninjured. No one was seriously injured. GISBORNE, January 7. In connection with the hotel fracas, his Worship said he was satisfied that the five apcused attacked a young man named Richard Williams. The ringleaders, Thomas Kennedy and James Barnes, would be fined £10 each or three months' hard labour ; James Garretty, Denis Barry, and Daniel Ross would be fined £3, in default 14 days ; Kennedy and Barker would also be fined £1 each and ordered to pay the damage done.
