THE YEARLY REPORT. Discharged, 165 men and 68 women — total 233. Leaving on 31&t December, 1908, 154 men and 62 women — total 216. Fifty-nine deaths occurred during the year. The expenses of the institution amounted to £5518 17s 3d. The expenses for maintenance amounted to £4829 11s 3d, an increase of £639 9s Id on the previous year. The charges are for coat of food, clothing, fuel, house furnishings, salaries of master, matron, nurses, servants, and doctor, medicines, funerals, municipal ra-tes, half office expenses, and all working expenses in connection with the institution. The weekly average was 238, the same as previous year, which gives a oha-rge of 7s Sd per head per week. The amount disbursed on outdoor relief was £3716 17s 3d, a decrease of £1726 17s 7d on the previous year. The total amount expended was £3719 9s.
