HEALTH OF WOMEN AND CHILDREN.
The monthly meeting of the Society for the Promotion of Health of Women and Children was held at the Town Hall on. the Bth inst., those present being — Mesdames Rose (in tihe chair), King, Jackson, Donniston, Moore, Allen, Ramsay, Mark Goh?n (hon. treasurer), Misa Gow, an<l Dr King. Apologies were received on behalf of Misses Beswick and Holford. lln Moore proposed that Dra Stanley Batchelor, Ritchie, and Sydney Allen be asked to associate themselves with Dr Williams, the physician to the Karitane Home, in the delivery of a course of lectures to nurses. The motion was seconded by, Mrs Denniston and carried unanimously. The acting Plunket nurse reported having visited a number of homes during tho last month. n One thousand New Year card? and pamphlets were reported to have been distributed to mother It was reported that 156 babies had been on the Hotne'3 register, of which 21 were admitted last month. The quantity of humanissd milk sent out was 775 gallons, irrespective of 60 gallons supplied to the institution. A largo amount of correspondence was dealt with by the secretary and her assistant. An efficient water supply has now been obtained through the Little Sisters of the Poor's service.
