SOLDIER'S GRAVES.
THE PRESERVATION FUND. WELLINGTON, January 8. In connection with the sum of £700 raised in New Zealand, and now held here &•» a soldiers' grave fund, it has been decitled by the committee to use the moneys taken from it for the upkeep of soldiers' graves in. the Dominion, and to refuse to hand, it over to the Loyal Women's Guild of South Africa as requested. Already some firms have been asked to furnish designs for a diis<tin,guishing mark which it Ivais bean agreed shall be placed over every soldier's giave discovered in New Zealand. It is found, | iiowever, that it is very difficult to obftain information regarding the location pi graves, and though the officers comBranding districts have been approached ippxi asked to obtain a return, if possible, of soldiers' graves in their districts, it has been so far without effect.
