Business in grain continues within the ©ame narrow limits as during tin© dosing months of last year, and darling the current week business has been confined to a few small paxoels, which' changed hands at current prices. The amount placed an offer has been extremely small, asm ia most oasss growers nave dema.n>ded prices above the parity of current rates. Reports from all parts of the Dominion are unanimous in support of an unusually abimdant harvest, although, some fears are entertained that if much more wet weather, similar to thab of this week, ia experienced the result will no* be so favourable. A* present wheat requires mild, warm weather to enable it to mature slowly, and little, if any more, rain is wanted before harvest. During the week a line of 80 sacks' of Humteiß changed hands at 4s 2d, delivered in Ghrisitehuireh. Oats are practically off the market, the transactions having been reduced' to a minimum. A . few small lines of new season's oat 3, principally Algerians, havealready been placed on offer, but it is not anticipated that much business will be dona for about three^ weeks. ChafF remains quiet, the- littla business done being on a. basis of from 52s 6d to 55s on trucks at country stations. A few lines of ryegrass seed, mostly of poor quality and very light, have already been put on the market. No obd pasture seed has yet come on the market, and so fax values have not been fixed. The following quotations aire for purchases from farmers, net cash, sacks extra, except where otherwise specificd 1 : — Wheat— 4s Id to 4s 3d, at country stations.
