FORTNIGHTLY LABOUR REPORT.
Central Labour Exchange, Arcade, DunI edin and Timaru (Leighton's), reports the j la,bour market quiet during the past fort- ' night, but inquiries are now coming from j the north for harvesters and binderdrivers, also a few men far the grassseeding ; but a decent start has not been j made yet owing to the crops, etc., being backward. The wages offering are: — Harvesters, 10d and Is hour ; binder-drivers, 50a, 60s week : ploughmen, 255, 27s 6d ; couples, £85, £90; turr.ip-thinncrs, 12s to 14s per acre ; milkers, 20s to 255.
