DIVISION OF OPINION.
MAJORITY AGAINST EXAMINATION. THAMES. January 5. A peculiar position has arisen in connection with the attitude of the Tham^es Miners' Union regarding the medical ex animation. night tl.e Thames branch decided to submit to examination provided the companies paid the medical fees, but the Karaacjahake branch of the Thames Miners' Union decided una-ni-mously not to submit to medical examination. It will be necessary to take votes of both branches to ascertain the views of the union. It is now found that a majority are in favour of refusal. Many men at the Thames will therefore decide to stick to their comrades, and others have gone to work. Some have certificates, while others resumed in accordance with the Thames resolution carried last night.
