lows: — We held our weekly sale of grain and produce at our stores on the 29th ult., when we offered a small catalogue to a fair attendance of buyers. Very moderate clearances were effected under fair competition. Values ruled as under: — Oats. — The demand rules dull, with prices about on a par with late rates. Stocks in stores are now in small compaea. In this | market business is practically suspended o\ving to the holidays. Quotations : Prime milling, Is 7^d to Is 8d ; good to best feed. Is 6d to Is 7d ; inferior to medium, Is 3d to Is s£d per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat. — Quotations, in the absence of business of note, are more or less nominal. Very few lines are offering, and it is improbable that any sales will be affected | until after the holidays. Quotations: Prime ' milling, 4s 8d to 4s 9d ; medium milling 1 and fowl wheat, 4s 6d to 4s 7d ; broken and' damaged, 3s lid to 4s 5d per bushel (sacks extra). Potatoes. — Offerings of the new crop are now fairly heavy. Quotations : Auckland, oases, £10 ; bags, up to £9 10s per ton ; Oamaru, up to £10 ss ; Peninsula, prime, lid to IJd; small, Id. The market is quiet, and the season is practically over for old sorts We quote (nominally) best Up-to-Datcs £3 to £3 10s per ton. Chaff. — Supplies are light, and values are fully maintained for choice quality. Inferior and medium descriptions, however, are still slow of sale, and show no improvement in prices. Quotations: Prime oaten sheaf, £3 10s to ,£3 15s; medium, £'3 to £3 7s 6d ; light, inferior, and heated, £1 10s per ton (bags extra). I CLEARING SALE. ' Messrs Todd Bros, and Co. (Ltd.) report holding a clearing sale at \ Clyde on the 22nd ult., when they j sold on account of Mr James Ruddin all hi\> horses and plant which have been used for tho past few years in the rabbit industiy. They sold : Seven norse» at from £15 to £27 10s ; six four-wheeled waggons at from £13 to £25 ; seven two-wheeled collecting carts at from £5 to £7 10s; one gig at £7 10s; and a very large quantity of harness and sundries at splc-ndid prices. The sale as a whole was highly successful, the prices realised exceeding expectations. SALE OF SHEEP. Messrs Donald Reid and Co. (in conjunction with Fraser Falconer, Kelso) report having sold 1200 Ardmore hoggets at a vei'y satisfactory price. This is the first big line (locally) of sheep sold since shearing, and it mii3t be pleasant news to breeders to know that the price was a very high one. PROPERTY SALES. Messrs "Todd Bros, and Co. Gourlay, both of- Roxburgh; on account of Mr Janies K.
