I The second annual sports gathering under 1 i the auspices of the Palmerston Amateur, Athletic Club was held on xhe chow ground at •Palnaersfcon on Saturday in the presence of a fair number of the townspeople. Thfe.. weather was fine, but towards the close some rain fell, and slightly marred the enjoyment of the day. The Palm&rston Band (conducted by Mr R. Kitchen) was in attiendianoe. Dr Hislop is patron of th© olub and Mr E. H. Clack. M.P., president, while the vice-presidents are Messrs R-. W. ' Wheeler, W. Grim&daie, J. Crisp. G. K. ! Graham, D. Mackod, and T. A. B.
