THE DAIRY REGULATIONS.

CHRISTCHURCH, December 24.

With regard" to a statement recently published that the new dairy regulations are being enforced in Canterbury, Mr H. T. Turner (Chief Inspector of Stock in this district) informed a representative of Truth that he desired to deny the statement in toto. He also wished to make it perfectly clear that the socalled new dairy regulations are not in being. The only dairy regulations that are being car«ied out are those that came into force when the Dairy Industry Act was passed in 1898. Mr Turner added that should the new regulations be passed into law they would be carried out in a tactful and comiaonsense manner, and local surroundings and oilier circumstances would rereive due consideration compatible with the protection of the public health.
