INTERVIEW WITH THE EXAMINER. A COMPLIMENT TO DUNEDIN MUSIC TEACHERS. Mr Thos. F. Dunhill, who has just concluded a tour of the Dominion, conducting examinations at various centres for the Associated Board of the R.A.M. and R.C.M, 13 a professor of the Royal College of Music. Speaking- to a Daily Times reporter on the Bth, Mt Dunhill expressed himself as exceedingly pleased with the work that has come under his notice all over New Zealand.. He is especially pleased with the results in Dunedin, considering the large uumber of successes in the more advanced examinations. He had as many as 10 solo performers for the highest examination that is conducted in the colonies, and a large proportion of theso had not only been successful, but had come through the ordeal with flying colours.

" That fact speaks well," continued Mr Dunhill, "not only for the high standard of tho "teaching, but for the extent of the •efficiency to which the teachers arc able to carry the pupils. It is certainly a point to b© commended in Dunedin that the teachers should be so competent to carry qn_the work of pupils to the most advanced stages." Enlarging on the same matter, the examinei- remarked that the best work in Dunedin compared more than favourably with that in any of the centres he had visited in England.

" I have enjoyed my trip in New Zealand very much," went on Mr Dunhill. " Everybody I have met seems to have made it their business to give me a good time, and I have thoroughly enjoyed myself. I feel exceedingly grateful to the people for the hospitality they have kindly extends to me, an i I hope ' that on another occasion I shall return to renow friendships that made when I visited New Zealand two years ago.'
