\ BRISBANE, Decem&eT 3. The Aiddressj-in-Reply was adopted by 32 votes to 26. The Treasurer delivered his 'Budget to-day. The revenue last year was £4,488,000, and the year closed with a surplus of £115,200. The loan expenditure was £1,034,000, whereof £885,000 was spent on railways. The " -loan expenditure for the coming year is Estimated at £1,596,000. The deposits in the Government" Savings Banks have increased in four years by £1,180,000, and the deposits in the« Government banks equal nearly £500 per family. This is a gratifying index of the general prosperity of the State. The estimated revenue for the current year is £4,595,700, and the expenditure £4,590,500.' The Treasurer urged the need of keeping a close rein on the expenditure in order to prevent additional taxation. December 4. The Address- in-Reply passed the Assembly after an all-night sitting.
