The Otago Farmers' Co-operative Association of New Zealand (Ltd.) report:— We ' held our usual weekly horse 6ale on Slaturday last, when we offered 70 draught mares and geldings, lorry pairs, vanners, springcarters, harness horses, and hackneys to a splendid attendance of farmers, -contractors, *nd town and country tradesmen. Messrs Finlay and Billinghurst, of Aramoho, had I a superior lot of horses forward- for this 1 sale, comprising three, four, and five-year-old mares and geldings, specially selected for express, van,~..and lorry work. They were all good clifty sorts, with plenty of substance and good bone, and were one of the best lot of horses of their class we have offered for some time. Competition was keen, and they all sold under the hammer at satisfactory prices. Our other consignments came from Timaru, Wangaloa, Waihola, Owaka, and the Taieri, ai;d almost the whole of the country lots were cleared at good values. For mares and geldings suitable for general farm work competition was keen, and sound younpf horses, especially mares, sold well. A fair amount of business was done in aged draughts, but they were- harder to quit. Up- . standing gig horses were in demand, and sold readily, as also did quiet, steady-going harness cobs and ponies.
