COCKSFOOT CROP AT BANES PENINSULA.
The new season's cocksfoot crop at Banks Peninsula will be much below the average in bulk, and very dirty. This applies to the crop generally, but in some places where the owners have stocked judiciousJy the crops will be good. Messrs A. Moritzson and Co., Dunedin, are in receipt of advice that in paddocks where there has been overstocking the crop is xlirty and apparently unfit for cutting. Samples of clean seed will not be numerous. The comparative failure of the crop is attributed generally to the dry seasons experienced during the past two years and .to rain coining too late to be "of benefit to the grass.
