Continent, and southern and local milk. A featuie of the sale was the keen competition for all lots of wool suitable for the American market and for the be&t qualities of fine urossbreds, prices ranging from lOd to 12^d. Coarse crosebreds also showed a considerable rise as compared with the closing -rates of the September sale and equal to the prices obtained in this market at the December sale of 1907. The condition of the wool throughout -was much better than it was last year. The following is the range of prices" obtained : Fine ciossbreda, good, lOd to 12id ; medium, 8d to 9Jd ; inferior, 6£d to 7^d ; coarse crossbreds, 7d to B^d ; medium, s|d to 7d ; pieces, first quality, 4|d to sj,d ; pieces, second quality, 3d to 4id ; lo.k- l^d to Zd.
