DUNEDIN PRESBYTERY.
A meeting of the Dunedin Presbytery was held on the Ist inst., the Rev. W. T. Todd (moderator) presiding. On^ the motion of tho Rev. L K. M'lntyr© the following minute was adopted unanimously: — "In severing the pastoral tie between the Rev. D. Maclennan, M.A., and the Chalmers congregation, the- Presbytery desires to place- on record its high estimate of Mr Maclennan's character and attainments, its appreciation of his fidelity and zeal as a pastor, and its regret at losing- him as a. fellow-presbyter. It would very cordially bid him Gorlfapecd in his new sphere of labour, and conuitMitlv him as a ' brother beloved ' to the Ma ta ura Presbytery, witb«n wlio&e bounds hii now charge is situated. The Piv-.byifrv would also express its deep sympathy wilh the Chalmers congregation, and in a special manner with the Highlander.- within and beyond the bounds of that coiiLfrosrat ion, in the loss it is cus-ta-ining through the removal of Mr Maclennan, whose ministrations have been so highly apreciatod, a.n<J it would express the hope that a suitable minister may soon be found to take Mr Maclennan's place."
