HOSPITAL BOARD.
At the conclusion of the Charitable Aid Board's business, the annual meeting of the .Hospital Board was held, and on the motion ; of Mr Wilkinson, seoonded by Mr Aitken, l*. was resolved that Mr J. H. Walker be i apittfaied, chairman and treasurer. i The Finance Oojnmi£tee reported re the . ! | servant had been advertised for, but no applications were received, domestics having . a dread of going to a fever hospital. — The ' report was approved. , The ex-Chairman of the 'board, in a report, stated that 10 beds were -wanted to , make the furnishing of the wards of the Fever Hospital comjpkte. The cost would be about £30. He also reported that as coon as the present building was .finished, and before the winter set in, the paths and back yard" would require to be asphalted, i at a cost of about £30. — Referred to the Works Committee to deal with, Mr Mill expressing a, hope that the Works Committee would adopt a suggestion of the mercantile community that all requirements for the hospitals would be supplied on 'the tender principle, which gave traders an equal chance. 1 The following -committees were appointed : Finance — Messrs Mill, Tapley, Wilkinson, MTarlane, and Keast ; Works — Messrs , Keast, Anderson, Wilkinson, Gilkison, and Harrison, the chairman to be ex-officio -a. member of all committees. A GEXEKOTTS DONATION. Mr F. Zwingle Moore wrote stating that he would be pleased to subscribe £100 to the Fever Hospital, to be used in obtaining and placing in the hospital extra com1 forts for patients and nursing assistants. — The donation was received with thanks, and, on the motion of Mr Mosley. the board's appreciation -of the gift was ordered ■ to be recorded in the minutes.
