TESTING THE MERITS OF LONG-WOOL SHEEP.
The Feilding A. and P. Association has adopted a proposal put forward by Mr G. C. Wheeler to test the wool-growing merits of the various long-wool breeds of sheep, the idea being that rams are to be shorn, grazed, and shorn again under the control of the association. The following are the terms of the proposal as adopted : — That a competition be arranged between-two-tooth and four-tooth rams of any longwoolkd registered breed, to be shorn, or - reshorn with machines on December ~, 1908, in the presence of one or more persons appointed by the Feilding A. and P. Association, and then handed over to the paid association, until they be again - B : milarly shorn on •— , 1909.
