PUBLIC SCHOOL SPORTS.
FINE CADET DISPLAY. CHRISTCHURCH, December 5. The Public Schools' Amateur Athletic 'Association'e sports were held to-day in brilliantly fine weather, and they were very largely attended. Several fine displays were given by the school children and Cadets,' and a very lengthy programme of sDorts was gone through. The 880 Yar<*3 Ohaimrionsnip, for which there were 21 entries, was won by L. Blackmore \ West Christchurcb) iv 2min 20sec. The event was keenly contested, and was won on the tape. The' Cadets were reviewed by Lieut. - colonel Hawkins, O.C. District. Addressing them after the march past,-Lieut.-colonel Hawkins said he was extremely pleased with the manner in which the parade was conducted. There was a fine future for the Defence forces of the country, and if the same standard were maintained as that which he witnessed the Dominion would have nothing to •2ear. Mr C. A. C. Hardy, M.P., on behalf of the Minister of Education and the Board of Education, thanked the officers for the display, of which they were all . J>roud. .
