SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH.
(Fkom Our Own Cohrespondekt ) WELLINGTON, December 1. Arrangements are being made for a visit of 4-cientists to the Chathams in February. The president of the Philosophical Society (Professor H. B. Kirk) has communicated -with the presidents of other societies with the view of ascertaining what members will be able to take part in the expedition, and replies are coming in. Arrangements have also been made foT a party of Ohristchurch scientific men to visit the West Coast Sounds in January. This party -will return in tame to join the Chatham Islands party.
