POLLED ANGUS BULL FOR MASTERTON.

Victoria a very line Aberdeen polled Angus bulJ from Messrs Murray, Roberis, and Co *s herd at Gladbrook, Middiemarcn, to the order of Mr Hum«, of Masterton, North Island. Japan is just two years old, and has for dam the fine- breeding k>w Chance, by Baron Arra^oul (imp.) ; grand dam Merry Maiden IV, by Lancer of Ad-vie 4imp.) ; ■ g-g-da.ni Merry Maiden (imp.). Merry Maiden is descended from the old Roses of Advie, who were the foundation of the famous Ad vie herd. Both Chance and Merry Maiden IV have ibeen successful prize wianers — at Dunedin Merry Maiden IV having won the champion certificate on two occasions and also five first' prizes. Lances of Ad vie is out of the Highland Society's champion Ladybird, and also by a Highland Society winner, Rustler. Japan has" for sire the now well known bull Eblis of Ballindalloch. He is a Baliindallooh Erica, and has d.lniost an unbeaten show yard record. Starting at Perth, Scotland, as a Yearling he there beat the Highland Society winner, and, Bincfi coming to the Dominion, he has won iive fiist prizes ar.d four champion certi-Se&t-es. He is a rare breeding bull, arid is sire of this year's champion at Dunedin. Japan resembles his noble sire very much, ■not big, but full of quality, deep and well sprung in ribs, has a beautiful head, and i» just the sort of sire to put quality into Any herd. He has passed the tub^rculine test, as all bulls and heifera sent from Gladbrook have to do.
