EFFORT TO SAVE HER CHILD. HAMILTON, December 4. Details of the drowning fatality at Waipu River, as shown at the inquest, are that Raiha Haimona and her child were crossing the river in a canoe. The child fell out, and the mother heroically jumped in to save it, with the result that both were drowned.
