Notts from Reefton . (From Our Own Correspondents.)
REEFTON, December tf. The manager of the New Big River mine reports for 1 the week: — "Eastern reef: In No. 7 stope the reef is broken «md mullooky. No. 8 stope is similar to No.' 7. In, No. 9 stope the reef is 6ft wide. In No. 10 stope the reef is 4ft wide. Branch reef; In No. 7 stope the reef is 10ft wide. We are cross-cutting into the footwall of this reef. In No. 9 winze there is no change to report. No. 8 level : The cross-cut into the hanging wall side of the level is in' 27ft. with the country still bard. No. 7 level: Repairing CosgTOve's block. Driving easterly has been continued, and m. th© early part of the week we had stone which proved to be only a boulder. A. rise for , the etope has been started on this reef. One hundred and forty tons were raised, and the battery was employed , full time.
