VICTORIAN RAILWAY DISASTER
MELBOURNE, October 18. Twenty-six actions have been instituted against the Railway Commissioners in connection with the Sunshine disaster. The total amount of the claims is £39,664. October 19-To-day was the last opportunity of making claims in connection with the Sunshine disaster. Altogether 50 cases have been listed* the total claims amounting to £75,000.
A story of ill-luck and poverty at Wellington was brightened by an incident in, which a butoher's carter figured. The master butcher had given orders that no more meat was to be supplied to a family who could pay no longer, but the family still received meat. The carter paid tM bill
