October 19. — The weather has been very changeable, as it generally is at this time of tho year. We have had sunshine, rain, ynd wind, but tha rain was dried up by th-» wind before it had time to soak into •ths ground, so that a day's steady rain is badly wanted. i'arm Work.— Sowing is finished, and Yearns ar-s busy discing the ground for grass and turnips. The turnip ground has &or. very hard' this year, and requires a lob of work to make it fit to receive the seed. .Lambing. — The lambing will he a rocorJ thi3 year, as I hear of some farmers getting 150 per cent., and 100 per cent, wili ba a common thing-. So far th-ere lias been no storm to kill the la nibs. School. — The annual inspection was held on iSeptemiaer 24- by Inspectors Fitzgerald iPncl Richardson. The report hes not yet i>sen received, but tho Sixth Standard [pupils have all received proficiency certificates, and I understand that the inspectors weve well satisfied with the work and management of the schcol.
