ACTION AGAINST POLICE SERGEANT. • r MASTERTON, August 30. At -ttie District Court on Saturday Mr Joseph Kennedy claimed from Nathaniel Miller, «arge»nt of police at Masterton 1 , the earn of £200 damages on the occasion of the Brirtaefi-Wairarapa football match at Mnsterton. Plaintiff stated Ite paid to go in tier grand stand, and took a seat on which" tio notice of xeservation was affixed, and was forcibly removed by defendant. ylfter retiring for two hours and 35 murates the jury found— (l) That the plaintiff was cot in such a state of drunkenness as would justify his removal; (2) that seats were reserved in reasonable way and with reasonable notice to plain' tiff; (S) {.hat defendant used unnecessary force ip removing plaintiff.
