After a conference with Mr Taft, Senator Hopkins announced that a cub« committee was drafting a bill to obtain special concessions for American products abroad and was arranging for a maximum and minimum basis after the pattern of the third' section of the Dingley Act. Many of the schedules would be substan* tially reduced.
He said he was convinced that tlie tarifl would be the predominating factor in th« coming Presidential campaign.
