The above appears in the Leeds Budget with the following note:—lt was forwarded to us by an esteemed London correspondent, who writes:—"ln connection Awith this problem an amusing incident occurred in our first nuutca with Ramsgate, when Charlie Dixon judging from the diagram—wagered that it was only a draw. He was to have demonstrated the draw on the conclusion of the match, but it so happened that the position was within an ace of occurring in one of his games that evening, and he then saw the win and found he had lost his wager!"— This note made us look at the diagram again, when we saw that it ran into Problem 2579 (colours reversed), Otago Witness, which was sent to us for solution by a correspondent. Mar Dixon probably missed the same point as our correspondent. —Da. Ed. O.W.]
