The day being very dieagreeable, the • attendance was only moderately large, and bidding was extremely _dull. In fact, the sale was one of the -most 'disappointing held this year, practically the whole of the yarding" -being passed in at auction. A few pens were, however, 6oid ■ privately afterwards, J>ut by far the bigger portion of the entry went away unsold. . All clases of sheep seemed to suffer, and no lines seemed' to stand out more than the other. Feed being alow at coining away Can be the only reason put- forward for the slackness, as there is reason to believe the cheep will not be wanted here later on. There were practically no fat sheep forward. Forward wethers sold at from 13s- 6d to 15s 9d; two-tooth ewes sold, at up to 19s: lour, six, and eight-tooth ewes brought from 13s 6d to~l7s 6d : and full-mouth ewes from 8s to 13s 3d. Hoggets were hand to 'cell at "almost any price. A few lines' of . ewe hog-g-ete sold at up to 15s 60L Aji entry of about 100 head of fat cattle sold well, bullocks bringing up to £8 ss. heifers - and cows from. £5 4s to £9 ss ; 'two-year-old steers and heifers, £2 10s to '£3 10s; yearlings, from 30s to £2 4s.
