MELBOURNE, August 15. Mr Deakin states that the Federal capital flite will be practically the first question of the coming session. The ailment and its mysterious cause are not definitelymade out, and the treatment at best has ■ been unsatisfactory. It is believed that 1 about 50 cases have occurred in Melbourne. SYDNEY, August 14. William. Stanley Forbes, late Sydney manager of the " Scottish Union and National Insurance Company, has been sentenced to three years' imprisonment,' I with hard labour, for stealing valuable, securities belonging to the company. / PERTH, August 12. . Mr Fett-el (station manager) and Mr * Davis (cook) were found murdered in their beds at Turkey Creek. The crime is ; believed to be the work of blacks. j The session practically collapsed, due in a measure to the reporters' strike and the approach of the general elction.
