HIGH SCHOOLS MATCH. CHRISTCHURCH, August 14.
The annual football match between the Boys' Hisrh School and the Waitaki Boys' High School was played this afternoon, and resulted in a win for the former by 11 points to 6.
NORTH OTAGO v. ELLESMERE. OAMARU, August 13. The football match North Otago v. Ellesmere was played to-day in fine weather and on a good ground. The local men were superior to the visitors in every department but scrum work, and won by 16 points to 3. For the winners King obtained a try which' was not converted, Ross obtained a try and converted it, and also place-kicked a goal, while Taylor obtained a try, which Ross converted. For the losers Scott obtained a try, which was not converted.
WELLINGTON v. SOUTH CANTERBURY. WELLINGTON August 11. Wellington's second representative team was defeated to-day by South Canterbury by 8 points to 6. The teams were fairly evenly matched, and th<3 game was interesting throughout. South Canterbury's score oonjsisted of a penalty goal, kicked by Spil-
lane, and a. try obtained by Roddick and!"" converted by Spillane. For Wellington., Gardiner obtained a try, and Perry and* , Gardiner simultaneously fell on the baU scoring a try. which was not converted.
