THE GLENCAIRN BUILDINGS, THE SCENE OF THE LARGEST FIRE IN JOHANNESBURG: VIEW LOOKING UP JOUBERT STREET. The damage to this block of buildings was estimated at over £30,000. Four persons lost their lives, and three were injured. The fire brigade may be seen, at tbe time of taking the photo., still at work with the hese, by means of which a steady stream of water kept the burning debris in check.
